Seminar and Discussion (Research Report)
The Lack of
Blood Stocks in Aceh
A.
Background of The Study
Balancing blood stocks is a very
complex issue that requires constant monitoring and actions on the part of the
blood transfusion service. Blood stocks not only depend on blood donors and the
blood collected, but also on the consumption of blood. The latter is
unpredictable, both in terms of the volumes of blood components required as
well as blood groups. In cases of increased needs for blood, additional blood
drives are organized along with regular ones; frequently, donors are targeted
over the telephone (e.g. when certain blood groups are missing) and, as an
extreme measure, the blood transfusion service makes a public call to blood
donors in the media.
However, a problem for the blood
transfusion service is not only the lack of blood, but also stockpiling, since
blood components have a certain shelf life. In such cases, only a limited
number of donors are accepted at a blood drive or the latter is postponed.
Now, blood donors can also help
balance blood stocks and decide to donate blood by taking into account the
stocks and needs.
Moreover, there are some issues
which said about blood trafficking in Aceh. Whereas, it
is not allowed even people who do that, they will get punishment. According to
Article 192 of the Health Law (2009) "Any person who knowingly trade in
organs or tissue on whatever pretext, as referred to in Article 64 paragraph
(3) shall be punished with imprisonment of ten (10) years and a maximum fine
1,000,000,000.00 (one billion rupiah )."
Conclusion, based on the notion
above, I am as a researcher decide to do research about “The Reason For the Lack of Blood Stocks in Aceh”

D.
Research Methodology
In this chapter, the researcher
discusses the research method that was used in the research. Research method is
aimed to give a direction how the research was conducted. The research method
is used to make the writer accomplishes the study easily. In this research the
researcher used qualitative method in order to gain data that will support the
researcher ideas. Instruments used in this research
was interview. The participants in this research comprised of four
employees of Indonesia Red Cross. The reason of choosing them was because we
believe that they could give us information and concrete data related to the
title.
E.

handle all demands of hospital especially in local hospital because in some
district it’s difficult to get people who want to be blood donor.

Opening

According to what the participants
answered that the phenomena for the lack of blood in Aceh is not a mistake from
PMI. Because PMI always does their best every day in order to complete all of
blood bags demand even though they still cannot handle this problem.

Sollution
Actually, the way to solve this
problem that we need to appreciate and
give more participation in PMI events. (E.g being blood donor), and also PMI
need to do some socialization about the advantages of being blood donor and how
